The Musee d'Orsay in Paris is a beautiful building that was once served as a rail station. It opened in 1900 just in time for the Paris World Exhibition. It was scheduled for demolition in 1970 but was saved and converted into an art museum. When it reopened in 1986 it contained the world's largest collection of impressionist and post-impressionist art. The Orsay is a must when in Paris.
